While the crisis on Maui continues to make headlines and is well-deserving of our assistance, Matson proudly continues to support all of the communities it serves.

Kauai United Way (KUW) is an independent nonprofit organization that has been dedicated to serving the social service needs of Kauai since 1943, and the money raised on Kauai stays on Kauai. Matson recently made a $7,500 donation to the Kauai United Way Network at the 2023 campaign launch, held at the Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort and Spa on August 16.

“While a lot of Kauai minds and hearts are wrapped up with the Maui disaster, there are people on Kauai who need the services and help being provided by the Kauai United Way network of more than 20 partners,” said Kauai United Way Executive Director Lori Almarza. “Don’t forget our people. There are people who need the services our agencies provide.”

“Matson has supported the KUW for more than 40 years,” said Patrick Ono, district manager, Kauai. “Many local agencies depend heavily on KUW and would likely not exist without their assistance. They do exceptional work, and we remain strong supporters.”
