New Aloha Class Vessel, Kaimana Hila
Matson recently welcomed Kaimana Hila (KMH), its second “Aloha Class” vessel as it was christened at Philly Shipyard in Philadelphia on March 9, 2019 and deployed as part of Matson’s Hawaii service in April 2019. Matson’s Aloha Class ships are the largest containerships ever built in the United States.
KMH and its sister ship, Daniel K. Inouye (DKI) are the first of four new state-of-the-art ships entering service in 2018, 2019 and 2020 as part of a larger $1 billion investment in modernizing Matson’s Hawaii service.
